Adele is an English singer who rose to fame in 2007 after playing small gigs alongside friend, Jack Penate and others like Jamie T, and also through MySpace. She was awarded the Brit Awards Critics' Choice Award.
Adele's first record, 19, was released in 2008 and went straight in at number one in its first week; it has been certified platinum in the UK. The album included the hit songs, Chasing Pavements, and Cold Shoulder.
