Arctic Monkeys are an English indie rock group formed in 2002 and consists of Alex Turner, on lead vocals and guitar, Jamie Cook, on guitar, Matt Helders, on drums and Nick O'Malley on bass guitar and backing vocals.
The Arctic Monkeys have gone on to create two number one studio albums, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, and Favourite Worst Nightmare.
Arctic Monkeys were one of the first groups to receive mass public attention via the internet, which led to their smash hit first single, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor.

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, became the fastest selling first record in the UK since records started in 2006, however later in 2007 this was beaten by Leona Lewis. The album has since gone quadruple platinum in the UK and won the 2006 Mercury Prize.
Favourite Worst Nightmare, was released in 2007 and went straight to number one in the UK album chart and was certified two times platinum in the UK. The album won Best British Album at the 2008 BRIT Awards.
