Bono is an Irish singer, songwriter, and the main vocalist of the rock group U2.
As well as music Bono and other members of U2 have campaigned for human rights and other campaigns including, Amnesty International, Bono's DATA campaign, and the ONE Campaign.
U2 have been around since they formed in 1976 as teenagers. They have sold more than 170 million albums worldwide and have won more Grammy Awards than any other group. In 2005 they were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
As well as music Bono and other members of U2 have campaigned for human rights and other campaigns including, Amnesty International, Bono's DATA campaign, and the ONE Campaign.
Bono is the only person to have been nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Grammy Award and a Nobel Peace Prize. Bono was also knighted in 2007.
Bono has been married to Alison Hewson since 1982 and they have four children together, Jordan, Memphis, Elijah, and John.
