Charlize Theron started her career at the age of 16 as a model after winning a competition. She was flown to New York with the model company but decided to stay out there after her contract ended.
By the late nineties larger roles for Hollywood movies came along and Charlize starred in the box office hit, The Devil's Advocate, and, Mighty Joe Young.
Whilst in New York Charlize took up Ballet dancing but an injury ended this career path and resulted in Charlize moving to Los Angeles. Her first movie appearance was a non-speaking part in, Children of the Corn, which was released straight to video.
By the late nineties larger roles for Hollywood movies came along and Charlize starred in the box office hit, The Devil's Advocate, and, Mighty Joe Young.
Charlize Theron then went on to win herself an Oscar for Best Actress as well as a SAG Award and a Golden Globe Award for her role in the 2003 film, Monster.
In 2005 Charlize Theron received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Charlize has also been the spokeswoman in the J'ADORE adverts for Christian Dior.
Charlize Theron dated Stephan Jenkins, lead singer of Third Eye Blind, for around 3 years but is now in a long-term relationship with her co-star from, Head in the Clouds, and, Trapped, Stuart Townsend.
