Eminem's rise to fame came after he was signed to Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records and released, The Slim Shady LP. This was the most popular albums of 1999 and went triple platinum.
As well as Eminem's solo career he has also been part of the rap group D12, a rap music creater and has featured in movies. His official acting debut was in 8 Mile, which is semi-biographical.
Since then Eminem has gone on to release three more extremely successful albums and has said to be releasing a further one but it is not yet known when this will happen.

Eminem was married to Kim Mathers from 1999 to 2001 and again from January 2006 to December 2006. They have a daughter together, Hailie Jade Scott. Both Kim and Hailie are often mentioned in some of Eminem's songs.
