Helen Mirren is an English actor whose career started in the theatre.
As well as stage and film work Helen Mirren is well-known for her role in the television series, Prime Suspect. For her role as Jane Tennison in the series Helen won three consecutive BAFTA awards for Best Actress.
Helen Mirren has appeared in many movies including, Painted Lady, Gosford Park, and Calendar Girls. Helen Mirren has also portrayed three British Queens, Elizabeth I in the 2005 television film, Elizabeth II in the f2006 film, The Queen, and as Queen Charlotte in the 1994 film, The Madness of King George. For Helen Mirren's role in The Queen, she was awarded many awards including a BAFTA, Golden Globe and an Oscar.
