Johnny Depp got his first guitar when he was 13 and dropped out of school to become a rock musician. Depp?s group The Kids were successful in the local area but split after he married the drummer's sister: Lori Anne Allison. It was Lori who introduced Depp to Nicolas Cage. Cage advised Depp to become an actor, but he split form Lori before his career took off.
Depp starred in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He played the role of Hunter S. Thompson who was close friends with Depp before he committed suicide.
His role in A Nightmare On Elm Street led him to his first major role in the television series 21 Jump Street. In 1990, he landed a role in Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton film. This was Depp?s most favourite role. Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have worked together since on Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride.
