Lil Kim is an American rapper and singer she started out as part of the group Junior M.A.F.I.A with her childhood friend The Notorious B.I.G and others.
Lil Kim has since released another three studio albums, one of which she was in prison for. They were all fairly successful and two were certified Platinum.
After a year with them Lil Kim started a solo career and recorded her first record, Hardcore, which debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Billboard Hot R&B/Rap Albums Chart and eventually went on to go multi-platinum. This made Lil Kim the first female rapper to have a multi-platinum album. The album's lead single, No Time, was a duet with P.Diddy and reached the number one spot for nine weeks and was certified Platinum.
