Mary-Kate Olsen is the fraternal twin of Ashley Olsen who have both starred on television making them international stars.
Mary-Kate?s first acting appearance without Ashley was in the 2006 movie, Factory Girl and Mary-Kate has had a recurring role in the television programme Weeds.
Along with her twin sister Ashley, Mary-Kate was hired at the age of nine months for the popular television series Full House. This led to Mary-Kate and Ashley releasing a string of successful straight-to-video movies and became extremely popular in the pre-teen market. They were known greatest as the Olsen Twins; however they have recently stated that they would like to be referred separately as Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.

Mary-Kate was once seeing the Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos III but this ended in 2005.
Mary-Kate has suffered from anorexia and has been hospitalized for a kidney infection.
